This year’s Senior Boat Cruise, a tradition for the senior classes of AHS, was held on Sunday, October 1st. Marking the kickoff of the long-awaited last year of high school, the boat embarked from Boston Harbor and cruised down towards the Cohasset and Hingham area.
Around 250 seniors and some faculty members arrived at AHS on Sunday afternoon, taking buses to Boston together. This was about the same number of students as last year; however, this senior class is slightly smaller than previous years. The cruise left the harbor at 3:30pm, and the celebration began.
The event was casual dress and students were told to wear layers as it gets quite cold out on the water on a fall day. Dinner was provided for all seniors in attendance and a DJ was on board as well.
Ms. Breen, one of the senior class advisors said, “some kids were dancing, others just hanging out on the top of the boat in the gorgeous weather and relaxing, enjoying the company of their friends and taking lots of pictures.”
Pictures from the cruise littered social media feeds during the following days.
MK Goodwin, a senior who attended, said, “My favorite part was the DJ and the dance floor… [we] were dancing the whole time. I thought it was a nice way to start senior year.”
