ANDOVER, MA; April 2016 – Andover’s first Community Garden in more than 30 years will be opened in less than 1 month! This is an exciting time in which community involvement is necessary to help get it up and running. This garden will be a great way to bring people together and plant the seed of community engagement in town members.
Anyone in Andover is welcome to apply for a plot on a first come, first served basis to rent plots in the garden. There will be about 34 plots available for the growing season. The plots will be one of two sizes, either 40 square feet or 80 square feet and priced $1 per square foot per growing season. The Andover Community Garden will be located on the Virginia Hammond Reservation just off of High Plain Road, across from the leaf composting site.
The Andover Community Garden Association (ACGA) will be setting up events through this spring and fall for the community to learn about gardening and enjoy the fruits of their labor, including a ‘Garden Raising’ event on April 30 (rain date May 7).
For more information or to get involved in the garden, contact the ACGA at firstname.lastname@example.org. Feel free to check us out on Facebook https://www.facebook.com/Andover-Community-Garden-449585258578481/ or on our Go Fund Me page at https://www.gofundme.com/andovergarden.
