It is well know across the state of Massachusetts, that Andover is a powerhouse in girls basketball. On Friday, Andover showed Acton-Boxborough just how good they truly are.
In front of a packed house the Warriors prevailed, proving too much for a pesky but good A-B team. Junior Jackie Alois saved her best for the playoffs and led the Warriors to victory with an 11-point performance.
Andover got off to a 9-0 lead but A-B hung around and was down just six at the half. Then Andover took control of the game and turned it into a blowout in an instant.
Another milestone was reached when senior Nicole Boudreau became the area’s all-time leading scorer.
The talented Warriors will put their 23-0 record on the line Tuesday as they take on the 12th ranked Central Catholic Red Raiders. Central was the only team to put a blemish on Andover’s record last year, as they beat them 61-57 in a regular season matchup.
